Pastor’s

Paragraph

The month of March will provide us two new opportunities for growth & ministry at BVBC.

During the four Sundays in March, I will be teaching a 4-week Sunday School class for those adults who have recently followed Christ or united with our church.  This will be held in the former church library.  I will cover such topics as:  Understanding Salvation, Basic principles for Spiritual Growth, Living the Christian Life, and Understanding the Purpose and Function of the Church.

I hope to teach this series 2-3 times a year and use it as a bridge to get our newer members involved in a regular Sunday School class and propel them to grow in their faith.

Secondly, our church will be involved in a statewide promotion during March & April called “Sharing the Peace of Jesus”.  This is

basically a three-week emphasis to enlighten our community to the love of our church by praying for each home in Bayou Vista and inviting them to worship with us on Easter Sunday, April 4th.

On Saturday, March 20th, we will prayer walk Bayou Vista and place a door hanger on each home identifying the fact that our church prayed for their home.  On Saturday, March 27th, we will return to the same homes and place a gospel presentation and an invitation to our Easter Sunday Service on their doors.  On Easter Sunday, we will expect many of the unchurched in our area to take us up on the invitation.  There will also be follow-up visits and literature distribution to those who accept our Easter invitation.

God is already doing a great work at BVBC.  These two opportunities should encourage the Lord’s movement even more.

Dear Church Family,

The month of March is upon us and it is time that we “march” forward for Jesus.  I can’t wait from Sunday to Sunday to see what God is going to do next in our church.  People are coming out of the wood work to start new ministries at our church.  People are running down the aisle to get saved.  Families are coming back together.  Do you think this is because you have such a fabulous Minister of Music - No Indeed.  Do you think it is because we have such a wonderful Pastor - That’s not it either.  Do you think it is because of our tremendous Youth Minister - Nope.  It is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  We do not need to take it for granted.  We need to look around us and see where God is at work and join Him there.  God’s work is going to continue whether you join Him or not.  I have never been more humbled in my life than to see God at work in the things I am involved in.  To think that He can actually do something through me brings me to my knees.  Are you experiencing this?  If your not, then join us for Sunday School and Worship Sunday morning and evening.  Also, you sure do not want to miss the awesome prayer times we are having on Wednesday nights.  Wow! God is good!

            In Christ,

              Bobby
